Water Wars Week 1

This entire month, I've been challenging myself to drink at least (or close to) a gallon of water each day. So that's roughly 50 ounces before lunch, 50 ounces after lunch, and a bottle at both lunch and dinner. I was intrigued to do this after I saw a before/after of a lady whose face looked completely different (in a great way!) from before she started drinking. Face was clear and glowing and looked so smooth. She also saw 30lbs of weight loss without changing anything (which obviously I'm not going for), but still! The benefits of making this a habit is nothing but positive! My skin is pretty clear most of the time, but every now and then a whopper will show up and STAY for weeks it seems like. With a wedding and plenty of photos on the horizon, I want to try anything I can to be at my best for the day of. Hence the drowning, I mean drinking, of so much water per day.

Week 1:

I started officially on Tuesday, January 6, and the first couple of days were filled with bathroom break after bathroom break (my poor hands were so cracked and dry after the many hand washings they were receiving) and what felt like a constant water baby in my gut. Hoping this was just my body getting everything flushed out. My skin is also getting worse, rather than better, but I'm hoping that's the same concept. Out with the bad and then comes the good! By day 3 I found that I could drink it down a lot easier than the first couple of days. I wasn't struggling to finish my bottles right at 5 o'clock and drank through all of them by 3:30 with any problems.

By the weekend, my skin I THOUGHT was getting a lot better (turned out to just be a teaser). I have some places that popped up but luckily are easy to hide. I don't mind, since I know it's a side effect of starting this whole thing, so looking forward to next weekend and hopefully will have different results at that time. I can also hold off going to the bathroom so many times at work, but when you're at home and it's just RIGHT there, I'm there (sorry, was that too much?). I've also concluded that this is just like drinking alcohol...there is a seal that one must not pop or else it's all downhill from there! Except there is no such thing as water drunk.

By Monday, the new blemishes were under control wayyyy faster than they normally would be if I wasn't drinking so much water. So far, so good! I really just need one of those water backpacks that has the straw that comes right up to your mouth. Easy access!

Here's to Week 2!

Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Well. I did it. Took the plunge. Jumped off the band wagon. And I feel....about 8-9 inches lighter!  And the not so pretty before photo (just looked at all that fried straw!):  #shorthairdontcare

Wedding Invites: DIY

During my wedding planning, one of the things that I was most "sticker shocked" on was how much wedding invitations cost! I looked everywhere (and I'm talking everywhere: Etsy, Michaels, Target, Pinterest, any online shop, etc.) for ones that I liked that were cute, not too elaborate, and at a reasonable price (meaning not $300-600). I mean, it's a sheet of paper, envelope, stamp, and RSVP basically. It wasn't until I found this DIY that I finally had a possibility for what we were wanting to use for our invites, and I think they turned out great (for a DIY).  2 Invites could be made from 1 sheet of paper. I printed the actual invite on Vellum paper, and then put it over the card stock.  Here's what you need:  FREE Template 1 pack of 100 sheet Card Stock Paper-I got mine from Michaels because it was shimmery but not too blingy 1 pack of white vellum paper (I got mine at Staples) Ribbon in color of your choice Hole Puncher Scissors Half

Winter is Coming..so is a Wedding!

Burrrr! Today is a balmy 40 degrees outside-and I'm definitely not ready for it despite my scarf-wearing, boot shopping fashion choices since September, hoping to "force" Fall to actually happening, but now that it's here: go away! Or at least just get a liiiitle bit warmer, so I can still have fun in my dozens of scarves and boots, but not freeze my ass off. Ka-peesh? My parents like to kindly remind me of what's to come in December, since we are going to the Army-Navy football game in Baltimore. Last year in Philly was just awful (and by awful I mean freezing, rainy, icy, cold, hungry, wet, sweaty, repeat) but a blasty blast being in a new city and living through new memories being made.  Any hoo-Even though I'm not snuggled up at home on this festive Veteran's Day (thank you to everyone who has served!), warm in my bed, I still wanted to touch on some wedding related topics: vendors. This could also be fun to read AFTER the wedding in April, to loo
