Unconditional Love?

Bare with my opinion here for a minute or two.  I recently read an article titled "Thinking about getting a dog before having kids? Well don't." or something along those lines. It then went on about this lady who loved her dog but then once she had her kids she basically hated her dog because it was just another thing she had to worry about. She didn't even give it the proper treatment (let alone even remember what was wrong with the dog) when the vet called to tell her what the dog's issue is. The dog is 12 years old. 12 years old ! I mean, some people aren't even lucky to get 10 years out of their dog, let alone almost to having a teenager and here she is just brushing it aside like it's a used toy no longer wanting to be played with (ooo shiny new babyyyy). And it makes me so mad that people just push their dogs to the side when things get ruff. (Haha..rough). You made a commitment when you made the decision to own an animal (regardless if it's

Water Wars Week 3

Week 3 Update: Just chugging along! Both literally and physically. Week 3 is now in the books. Can't say that much has changed since Week 2, but I'm also waking up thirsty and drinking a little bit of water before I eat breakfast and then almost a full 20 ounces on my way to work in the mornings to get the day started. I do tend to "slack" on the weekends (not by much though!) because really, who has time to carry around a water bottle and find a bathroom every hour-especially when you're not home. I do the best I can, and still drink water with every meal too. I can tell the difference though, because by Monday I feel dehydrated and crave water.  I have WAYY more energy than I used to. I'm not sluggish throughout the day (unless I really didn't sleep good the night before), so I be kickin' it all day errrrday.  I feel like my skin is the same. It's not as "changed" as I was hoping (expecting?), but also my skin wasn't that

Case of the Mondays

Another weekend, come and gone, and now we are onto the last week of January. Sometimes it messes with my mind, because things/days/weeks go by so fast, but also at the same time go so slow because of all of the things we crammed into 2 small days! A few of my favorite things from the weekend: [[Some live music from Casey Donahew Band at the House of Blues on Saturday night. Those who know me know I'm not the biiiiiigest fan of Casey, just because his voice is so whiny on the tracks, but I can deal with him live (actually any type of music live is my jam), and I had a great time-minus the what seemed like an hour long wait in the cold for the valet to get Burt!]]  [[But he even posed for me! I looked around and I was the only one with my phone up and he stood there so I could take it. It's almost like a shout out. Thanks Case!]] [[Of course it wouldn't be complete without a kissy face selfie! There was a group of about 10 young young girls in

And darling, I....will...

Be loving youuuu 'til we're 70... It's been 1 glorious whole year since that super cold day in New York City-a little angry about a pointless argument from earlier that day ( get the story here ), slightly appeased by the hot cocoa and warm toasted nuts I ate right before, but not expecting a stranger to be capturing this whole thing, and now in a few short months (76 days to be exact), we will be complete. How did I get so lucky?

Current Obsessions

--Has anyone heard of DJ Zedd ? I'm sure you have once you hear some of his hits. He's 24 years old, a Grammy winner, and big in the EDM world. I hate to admit that I never paid attention to that type of music before, even though I do know all the words to Clarity and Stay the Night, and I hate even more to admit that the only reason I looked him up was because Selena Gomez has been spotted with him and I was like what in the world is Zedd (thank you gossip sites). But because I'm working out a lot and he's a little cutie, I am LOVING this type of music to now jam to and run with. Bangarang by Skrillex is another good one. Energizer bunny is what this does to me!  --Booties ! I freaking love this trend right now. I have a couple of wedge booties in tan and black and I also recently purchased some boot heeled booties in this golden tan color and some in brown with buckles. Thank you Nordstrom Rack. My credit card does not thank you, however. Skinny jeans and

Shredding for the Wedding

Ahhh the pressure. I love it (siiike). Match that with a white wedding dress you have to look bomb.com in and waa-laaa you have my shredding for the wedding mind set right now. Not like I need to lose any weight or anything (except maybe the food babies that I've acquired over Thanksgiving and Christmas break), but I want to look like I knew what I was doing in the gym. It's been hard to transition from all of my workouts from a young age being time specific during soccer practice, and college had the whole weight/practice/game schedule to abide by, but once you're done, you kind of have to start all over with how you work out, when you work out, and what you work out (allll by myysellllffff). No coaches or teammates to do it with you. hashtag athlete for life though!  Since college, I've experimented with a bunch of different pinterest-spired workouts, and for a while I was avid on Body Rock , which focuses on High Intensity Interval Training that you could do at

Weekends with Sir (I mean Ms) Sneeze A Lot

Well the sun is out, the wind is minimum, and it's just a glorious Sunday Funday... [[work a little less, play a little more...that's what this day is for]] ...except except I can't step foot anywhere without sneezing about 6 times in a row! Boo. I'm well over 30 sneezes total for the day, so whatever the sun brought up with this weather can just high tale it back to where it came from for all I'm concerned! I can't even GO outside to enjoy this weather without running back in looking for something to wipe my nose. Hmph.  Yesterday was just as glorious and sun-shiny and no sneezing at all, what gives? Since the hubby to be was off galavanting around Shreveport and New Orleans with the groomsmen, I was busy, well...eating a small Valentines assorted chocolate heart for dinner. And not feeling sorry about it one bit. Okay okay, so I DID have tamales earlier, followed by rice and ribs at Robert's grandma's house as we helped clean up,

Water Wars Week 2

Here we go, Week Two!  I haven't drowned yet, so that's always a good sign. My skin is becoming clearer and smoother (but that could partly be because I got one of these awesome beauties for Christmas and use it everyday!  Week two has brought about a sense of "slacking" for lack there better term. Not in the case where I'm not drinking what I need to, but the sense of urgency to get it done is gone, and I have to remind myself again to keep drinking. I'm only 2 days into week two, so we'll see. Today seems to have been off to a good start. I've been doing classes at the gym every day this week and while I'm trying not to pee half way through them, I'm also not really drinking much afterwards. Mainly because I don't have my handy dandy water bottles right around eye level, so I have to go find a water bottle or something to put the agua in, which isn't always on my mind since Pretty Little Liars (I'm finally caught up!) wa

Water Wars Week 1

This entire month, I've been challenging myself to drink at least (or close to) a gallon of water each day. So that's roughly 50 ounces before lunch, 50 ounces after lunch, and a bottle at both lunch and dinner. I was intrigued to do this after I saw a before/after of a lady whose face looked completely different (in a great way!) from before she started drinking. Face was clear and glowing and looked so smooth. She also saw 30lbs of weight loss without changing anything (which obviously I'm not going for), but still! The benefits of making this a habit is nothing but positive! My skin is pretty clear most of the time, but every now and then a whopper will show up and STAY for weeks it seems like. With a wedding and plenty of photos on the horizon, I want to try anything I can to be at my best for the day of. Hence the drowning, I mean drinking, of so much water per day. Week 1:   I started officially on Tuesday, January 6, and the first couple of days were filled w

Things that make me H-A-P-P-Y.

[Enjoyed a nice lunch of hubby to be's dinner from the night before that he didn't eat because pizza was in the oven by the time I got home. Don't mind if I dooooo...] [Dozens on bundtinis from my fave Nothing Bundt Cakes for a co-worker's send off. I snagged two. Shhhh .] [Reindeer games at Grandma's house. Someone thinks he's funny...] [Jenga Games. I'm yellin' timberrrr] [I mean, can kindergarten get ANY cuter?!]  [Cozy Sunday's with hot caramel chocolate mixed with comfy fleece blankets and the newest episode of PLL. Spent all weekend trying to catch up on Season 5. Hanna and Caleb really are the only reasons I watch this show ;)]

Wedding anxiety, already?

Please excuse my rant. I'm having a slight anxiety attack over this wedding due to the fact that it's already 2015 AND that we officially are t-minus 100 days until blast off. T-MINUS 95 DAYS to be exact. Maybe that's part of the reason I didn't sleep well last night (but that was probably due to fear of missing my alarm for work), but really-isn't it too early to be worrying about this yet?! I spent the better half of Sunday looking for the right flower girl dresses to use, and I still feel like I haven't done anyTHING  productive.  But hey! Flower girl dresses are a go, now just on to the next set of dresses. Bridesmaid dresses should be ready to ship soon. Oh and did I mention that my dress is completely finished (minus steaming for the day of), and I've got shoes (that still need to be broken in), most of the jewelry, and my veil? So I guess things are still getting done from my side. Most of the things really won't happen until right then and t

Happy 2015!

Cheers to the New Years! Hope it was lovely and celebratory and filled with lots of hopes and motivations for this upcoming 2015. I know this year is going to be the best one YET! We spent our New Years at a friends house, who had a great set up (including a DIY photo booth) and festive decorations! Plus a champagne-tasting contest, so we got to try a lot of different kinds of bubbly!  The best is yet to come! And it's so true. Each chapter that we embark on as a human being brings a new day and a new goal and new "best" days. When I was in high school, it was all about graduation it being the "best day," then we got to my 21st birthday, then my college graduation, then one of many relationship's anniversary, then getting my first big girl job and then turning 25, then to being proposed to, and now my next "best day" will be April 11, 2015. And from there on it keeps on and on. Isn't that exciting?  Each day I'm workin
