Friday Confessions

Ahh, we made it! Finally to Friday! The first of the New Year (minus New Year's Day). I tried to mentally calculate how many more Fridays there are until next Christmas, and then I tried to Google it instead when that didn't work and found I didn't even have the brain cells to accomplish that, so I for one am super PUMPED that it's the weekend because my brain be FRIED! I can't even think straight, much less put together anything that makes sense at this point, which is why the following sentences are random:  Sometimes Usually when I lay on my side and am reading or on my phone, my eye will leak and it looks like I'm crying but I'm really not. I'm just leaky Post First Monday inspiration hit hardcore Saturday night. Probably the main cause for our pecan dinner as well. Can't wait to see finished product!  I received a onesie for Christmas and legit spent all of New Year's Day (and then some) in it already. I highly recomme...

One Year Later!

Well here we are one year into this thing called "blogging." At first it started off as a way to keep family and friends included with my wedding planning (hence the name...), but now that that's over and done with it's been a welcome challenge to not only get out and enjoy life and do things that I think are worth documenting, but also provide a challenge for me to try new things TO document. I hope to someday be able to look back at these times and remember the who's, whats, whens, wheres, and whys, and hopefully have a good laugh about it! My life isn't perfect, and sometimes being positive isn't my first instinct, but blogging has been a way for me to reach out of my comfort zone and instill the habit of being positive first off and looking at things a different way and to implement that in every day life. (awesome run on sentence, right?) I've also had the chance to see/know/visit other bloggers that I incorporate into my daily routine that a...

Wake me up when September-errr October, ends!

Well it's been a hot minute since my last post, and life just keeps chugging along and here we are well on our way through this 11th month! November you say? How can that possibly be? After my slightly depressing October (I mean not having anyone or anything to dress up just is no fun at all!), onwards to food heaven! I've had my fair share of Halloween Candy to last me until next Halloween (did I really just say that? I, the candy fanatic?!), so come on T-Day!  October flew by in a whirlwind the return of hockey season (yessss), North Texas football games (through and through and finally got our first W of the season on Halloween which is better late than never right?), a 5k (victorious!), 1 high school reunion, an awkward family photo, a highly anticipated arrival of a friend's baby, and about 3.5 viewings of Hocus Pocus.  I have a few projects lined up that I'm hoping to finalize soon-more on that soon, hopefully!   I'm totally digg...

Long Live Alien!

In true grown up fashion, Robert and I purchased our first car together! Which meant that I had to trade in my car that I've had for almost 10 years, stemming all the way from Junior year of High School to now. Happy "4 year anniversary of graduating college" to me? And I have to tell you, as weird as I am (so shouldn't be all surprised), it was a LOT sadder than I thought, seeing my Alien stripped of all of my knick knacks, CDs, paperwork, and sentimental valuables collected in there over the past 10 years and just like that-gone!  So, so long Alien! This post is for you. I'll miss you and your awesome gas mileage. And how your speakers buzzed just right when I played Flo Rida music. Or the countless number of memories I'v had since Christmas 2005.  I'll never forget the time that.... -I first got you! Merry Christmas to me.  (Pictures of me opening the keys, Christmas Eve 2005)  -How on the first day of school the a couple we...

Feelin' hot hot hot!

Whew. It sure has been a hot one. It's also been a quick minute since this has been updated. Whoops. #sorrynotsorry. The days have been long and the weeks short, and holy moly we are already almost to August. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but there are so many fun things to look forward to this fall! I really can't wait to bust out my boots again (and to not worry about whether or not my legs have been shaved ;)), football season, fair season, birthdays, holidays. It's my favorite time!  I'm tying to soak up the last of this 100-degree weather, but it's not easy. It's physically draining just walking to and from the car. I ended up having a 100-degree fever last night, complete with chills and achy-ness just out of the blue. I feel somewhat fine today, but that was so random and with the heat, almost unbearable. I didn't feel like doing anything, and this heat just isn't what I thought it would be. And I used to play soccer game...

Life's Little Lately's

With life happening so fast, it's hard to keep up with what we've been doing the past few weeks. Sometime you just have to stop and smell the... ...afternoon root beer floats that are courtesy of the leftover ice cream in the break room freezer, and the free root beers in the vending machine. Score! ...little baby sunflower plant that husband bought for me to "care" for that has begun to sprout! ...Cinco de Mayo doggy sombrero. ...name change. Practice makes perfect, right? ...a little bit of signage that I've been doing. Congrats are in order both one marriage and one engagement!   [[favorite sign!]] ...freshly planted flowers + new mulch that husband put in because he can't sit still long enough for anyone ELSE (named 'wifey') to plant herself ...impromptu trip to the Lonestar Race Track in Grand Prairie. Not sure how I felt about the actual horse racing (don't those whips hurt?!), but gosh the horses were ...

5 Randoms

I love lists. The End.  Orrrr maybe it's the beginning, but it's definitely the perfect recipe for this nasty, cold, gray, wintery Sunday (not) Funday that we've got going on here.  5 names people like to call you other than your real name : 1 . Dani (stemming from early soccer days when it's easier to yell "Dani" than "Danielle" while running on the soccer field) 2.  D (Dani was shortened to D lol)  3.  Babycakes. Only my babycakes calls me this <3   4.  7th grade I was known as Birdie because my last name is a bird...clever!  5.  Daniellie Wellie Bellie. But that's only reserved for my mom.  Good ole soccer days. "Dani's ball!" 5 jobs you've had: 1.  Intnl Sales Support Coordinator  2.  Loan Officer/Mortgage Professional 3.  Sales Associate at Puma 4.  Customer Care Specialist  5.  Sales Associate at American Eagle    Halloween 2012  Halloween 2013.
