Water Wars Week 4: Challenge Complete!

Woo! I've finally completed my water challenge, and I'm proud to say that I actually participated and put forth the effort every single day, with the exception of some Saturdays and this past weekend when I was sick (trying to drink all that water repulsed me and I could not do it on Sunday or Monday), and I'm glad that I found a healthy habit to drink into and instill in my every day life! Here's what I learned (for myself): -My expectations should not be what anyone else's expectations or results are. I was intrigued at first from the original article that I read about all of the benefits that this lady saw as she went through this challenge. However, as I soon saw after I started-my "changes" didn't come as soon or as obvious that hers did. I also was probably (okay I know I AM) in a lot better shape then she was, skin wise and health wise. Plus she had some years on me (and I say that in the nicest way possible). I wasn't doing this to...

Water Wars Week 3

Week 3 Update: Just chugging along! Both literally and physically. Week 3 is now in the books. Can't say that much has changed since Week 2, but I'm also waking up thirsty and drinking a little bit of water before I eat breakfast and then almost a full 20 ounces on my way to work in the mornings to get the day started. I do tend to "slack" on the weekends (not by much though!) because really, who has time to carry around a water bottle and find a bathroom every hour-especially when you're not home. I do the best I can, and still drink water with every meal too. I can tell the difference though, because by Monday I feel dehydrated and crave water.  I have WAYY more energy than I used to. I'm not sluggish throughout the day (unless I really didn't sleep good the night before), so I be kickin' it all day errrrday.  I feel like my skin is the same. It's not as "changed" as I was hoping (expecting?), but also my skin wasn't that...

Water Wars Week 2

Here we go, Week Two!  I haven't drowned yet, so that's always a good sign. My skin is becoming clearer and smoother (but that could partly be because I got one of these awesome beauties for Christmas and use it everyday!  Week two has brought about a sense of "slacking" for lack there better term. Not in the case where I'm not drinking what I need to, but the sense of urgency to get it done is gone, and I have to remind myself again to keep drinking. I'm only 2 days into week two, so we'll see. Today seems to have been off to a good start. I've been doing classes at the gym every day this week and while I'm trying not to pee half way through them, I'm also not really drinking much afterwards. Mainly because I don't have my handy dandy water bottles right around eye level, so I have to go find a water bottle or something to put the agua in, which isn't always on my mind since Pretty Little Liars (I'm finally caught up!) wa...

Water Wars Week 1

This entire month, I've been challenging myself to drink at least (or close to) a gallon of water each day. So that's roughly 50 ounces before lunch, 50 ounces after lunch, and a bottle at both lunch and dinner. I was intrigued to do this after I saw a before/after of a lady whose face looked completely different (in a great way!) from before she started drinking. Face was clear and glowing and looked so smooth. She also saw 30lbs of weight loss without changing anything (which obviously I'm not going for), but still! The benefits of making this a habit is nothing but positive! My skin is pretty clear most of the time, but every now and then a whopper will show up and STAY for weeks it seems like. With a wedding and plenty of photos on the horizon, I want to try anything I can to be at my best for the day of. Hence the drowning, I mean drinking, of so much water per day. Week 1:   I started officially on Tuesday, January 6, and the first couple of days were filled w...
