Wake me up when September-errr October, ends!

Well it's been a hot minute since my last post, and life just keeps chugging along and here we are well on our way through this 11th month! November you say? How can that possibly be? After my slightly depressing October (I mean not having anyone or anything to dress up just is no fun at all!), onwards to food heaven! I've had my fair share of Halloween Candy to last me until next Halloween (did I really just say that? I, the candy fanatic?!), so come on T-Day!

October flew by in a whirlwind the return of hockey season (yessss), North Texas football games (through and through and finally got our first W of the season on Halloween which is better late than never right?), a 5k (victorious!), 1 high school reunion, an awkward family photo, a highly anticipated arrival of a friend's baby, and about 3.5 viewings of Hocus Pocus.  I have a few projects lined up that I'm hoping to finalize soon-more on that soon, hopefully!

I'm totally digging the cooler weather, hello boots! I think today is National Bootie Day, but let's be honest-every day is National Bootie Day for me, just look in my closet. I'm super excited to finally be able to wear longer sleeves and all my new warm and fuzzy items I've been collecting over the year. I think my favorite thing so far this Fall Season is the plaid blanket scarf thing? So so so cute. Still haven't found one that I totally love yet, but I'm still scouring every store that I come across. I'm inspired to dress cute even though I probably will stay in my fleece Grinch pajama pants most of the time I'm home. My goal by the end of the year is to find some dang RUGS to go in our house because last winter my footsies were so chilly on our hardwood floor and it made our house seem too cold. Reason #1 why I need/want/must have a onesie this winter. Not sure if I should invest in a nice one, or just cheapo all the way, since they mostly will be underneath furniture, or if there even is a difference.

Most importantly this month is the mark of the birthday of one of the most important people in my life-literally wouldn't be here without her today if it weren't for her birth! Happy 22nd birthday (as of November 1), Mom! Looking good :)

And a sweet throwback for Halloween from freshman year of college. Super heroes unite!

Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Well. I did it. Took the plunge. Jumped off the band wagon. And I feel....about 8-9 inches lighter!  And the not so pretty before photo (just looked at all that fried straw!):  #shorthairdontcare

Wedding Invites: DIY

During my wedding planning, one of the things that I was most "sticker shocked" on was how much wedding invitations cost! I looked everywhere (and I'm talking everywhere: Etsy, Michaels, Target, Pinterest, any online shop, etc.) for ones that I liked that were cute, not too elaborate, and at a reasonable price (meaning not $300-600). I mean, it's a sheet of paper, envelope, stamp, and RSVP basically. It wasn't until I found this DIY that I finally had a possibility for what we were wanting to use for our invites, and I think they turned out great (for a DIY).  2 Invites could be made from 1 sheet of paper. I printed the actual invite on Vellum paper, and then put it over the card stock.  Here's what you need:  FREE Template 1 pack of 100 sheet Card Stock Paper-I got mine from Michaels because it was shimmery but not too blingy 1 pack of white vellum paper (I got mine at Staples) Ribbon in color of your choice Hole Puncher Scissors Half

Winter is Coming..so is a Wedding!

Burrrr! Today is a balmy 40 degrees outside-and I'm definitely not ready for it despite my scarf-wearing, boot shopping fashion choices since September, hoping to "force" Fall to actually happening, but now that it's here: go away! Or at least just get a liiiitle bit warmer, so I can still have fun in my dozens of scarves and boots, but not freeze my ass off. Ka-peesh? My parents like to kindly remind me of what's to come in December, since we are going to the Army-Navy football game in Baltimore. Last year in Philly was just awful (and by awful I mean freezing, rainy, icy, cold, hungry, wet, sweaty, repeat) but a blasty blast being in a new city and living through new memories being made.  Any hoo-Even though I'm not snuggled up at home on this festive Veteran's Day (thank you to everyone who has served!), warm in my bed, I still wanted to touch on some wedding related topics: vendors. This could also be fun to read AFTER the wedding in April, to loo
