SIL is edumacated!

Shout out to my newly graduated sister-in-law Priscilla on her commencement day for her MBA! Way to kick off Mother's Day weekend with a bang! I met young, quiet Priscilla the first year that Robert and I were together, and have seen her graduate high school a year early (2010), then go on to graduate with an Associate's Degree, then switch major's a few times until one finally stuck and she STILL graduated college a year early in 2013 with her Bachelor's. Now she's loud and giggly and add a Master's Degree to the mix and girl, you are way more in love with school than everyone I know put together. Now quit studying and let's have some fun!

Friday started off with me being able to sleep in until 7 am (yes I consider that sleeping in based on the fact that I was getting to work AT 7 am the previous 4 days), and working on my posture (crowded bleachers and knees in my back for 2 hours = a straight back and square shoulders!). The speeches weren't too bad and dare I say felt a little inspired to "never work for free!" And of course we got to enjoy some *awesome* humidity that hits you full blast in the face (and hair!) when you walked outside. So that's what all that tornadic racket was last night Texas? Bringing us this moisture, oh thank you! I I also took a side line visit before lunch to the Social Security's office since I was already up in Denton, and o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y changed my name so I could become a Mexican. Free tacos and guac fo life! Just kidding on the guac part, but project name change has been activated! A wee bit sad (bye bye middle name Autumn), but also exciting that both husby and I are officially official! Woo hoo!

Saturday we continued the celebration and enjoyed her graduation party at Ojeda's, where ironically about 6 years ago, I was first meeting all of Robert's family at HIS graduation party at the same place! This time around though, I actually know the family and friends, but also, with a weird dejavu feeling in the mix, the weather was the exact same, my hair was still long, and we drove in Robert's truck, same ol same ol.

Congrats again, Cilla! Hope you had a great weekend and now it's time to live life without books or papers or grades to worry about!

Now onto the next...Can't wait to celebrate my sister's graduation from Westpoint in a couple of short weeks (plus a bonus trip to NYC to start it off). When did everyone get so smart 'round here?

Ps. Happiest of Mother's Day to all the Mommas out there. Especially my mom who loves unconditionally and is always there for us no matter what, and my new mother-in-law who is a great example as well!

Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Well. I did it. Took the plunge. Jumped off the band wagon. And I feel....about 8-9 inches lighter!  And the not so pretty before photo (just looked at all that fried straw!):  #shorthairdontcare

Wedding Invites: DIY

During my wedding planning, one of the things that I was most "sticker shocked" on was how much wedding invitations cost! I looked everywhere (and I'm talking everywhere: Etsy, Michaels, Target, Pinterest, any online shop, etc.) for ones that I liked that were cute, not too elaborate, and at a reasonable price (meaning not $300-600). I mean, it's a sheet of paper, envelope, stamp, and RSVP basically. It wasn't until I found this DIY that I finally had a possibility for what we were wanting to use for our invites, and I think they turned out great (for a DIY).  2 Invites could be made from 1 sheet of paper. I printed the actual invite on Vellum paper, and then put it over the card stock.  Here's what you need:  FREE Template 1 pack of 100 sheet Card Stock Paper-I got mine from Michaels because it was shimmery but not too blingy 1 pack of white vellum paper (I got mine at Staples) Ribbon in color of your choice Hole Puncher Scissors Half

Winter is Coming..so is a Wedding!

Burrrr! Today is a balmy 40 degrees outside-and I'm definitely not ready for it despite my scarf-wearing, boot shopping fashion choices since September, hoping to "force" Fall to actually happening, but now that it's here: go away! Or at least just get a liiiitle bit warmer, so I can still have fun in my dozens of scarves and boots, but not freeze my ass off. Ka-peesh? My parents like to kindly remind me of what's to come in December, since we are going to the Army-Navy football game in Baltimore. Last year in Philly was just awful (and by awful I mean freezing, rainy, icy, cold, hungry, wet, sweaty, repeat) but a blasty blast being in a new city and living through new memories being made.  Any hoo-Even though I'm not snuggled up at home on this festive Veteran's Day (thank you to everyone who has served!), warm in my bed, I still wanted to touch on some wedding related topics: vendors. This could also be fun to read AFTER the wedding in April, to loo
