Weekends are for the Warriors, Wedding Edition!

On Labor Day, AKA the day of all days for people to be born and to be married, I had the privilege of attending and being a part of one of my great friends from high school's wedding and had the best (and warm!) time! It was a great venue, great friends and family, and it was nice to see 2 people who seem like they would be totally different (think dark, tattooed, and pierced vs. tall and fair) from the outside come together so perfectly on a night such as this.

I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I had hoped, partly because I have an iPhone and that only gets you so far, but I was also glad to have some sort of 'purpose' and helping Southern Charm DFW AKA Wonder Woman Devon make sure everything was set up and going smoothly throughout. Everything tasted yummy, the drinks down smooth, and the DJ definitely kept the party going. My favorite part perhaps was probably right at the end of the ceremony when Jason and Shohreh were walking back down the aisle and went up to do their little thumb prints on the guest tree and the sun was going down perfectly behind the trees and casting this warm golden glow on them. I snuck a quick snap even though no cell phones were allowed (hehe). That or when the bride and her father busted out traditional Persian dancing during their father/daughter dance. Or when the cake lady arrived. Maybe I just loved it all?! Can you get married again? ;)

Jason and Shohreh-You guys are perfect for each other and I loved seeing your big day come together as it did. I wish you both nothing but the best and excited that you now get to enjoy married life as we all are! When did we all get old enough to get married?! The long hours of driving and cutting paper flowers and setting silverware out all day were worth the sweat! Happy 6th day of marriage you guys-Cheers to the next 6+!!

I now present a timeline:

Got a little glimpse of the life of a wedding coordinator..eek! Yes, that is a platter of Jimmy Johns sandwiches in my lap, which I thoroughly enjoyed multiple times during night ;)

Welcome!

Props to someone else who also cheated during the "no cell phone" ceremony, and to Mama Davoodi for posting this beautiful moment!

What my awesome (can you just tell the awesome quality?!) cell phone allowed me to capture. BUT-golden glow everywhere!

The aftermath of our diligent work.

The Birthday Boy wanted to pose with the greeter..no biggie.

Dovs...Southern Charm DFW. 'Nuff said.

Weddings? I love weddings, drinks all around!

Getting the party started!

I mean, look at their faces! <3

*Inset picture of all of our sweaty faces dancing to Get Low, or Low*
*Insert other totally awesome picture of the dessert table that was assembled and then demolished probably within a span of 8 minutes*
*Insert picture of totally awesome bubble exit*

And then, it was back to Dallas. The land of the traffic. And home of the construction.

Alright friends, now who's getting married next? I want more cake ;) and love, and laughter, and heck-why not a happily every after to top it all off!

Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Well. I did it. Took the plunge. Jumped off the band wagon. And I feel....about 8-9 inches lighter!  And the not so pretty before photo (just looked at all that fried straw!):  #shorthairdontcare

Wedding Invites: DIY

During my wedding planning, one of the things that I was most "sticker shocked" on was how much wedding invitations cost! I looked everywhere (and I'm talking everywhere: Etsy, Michaels, Target, Pinterest, any online shop, etc.) for ones that I liked that were cute, not too elaborate, and at a reasonable price (meaning not $300-600). I mean, it's a sheet of paper, envelope, stamp, and RSVP basically. It wasn't until I found this DIY that I finally had a possibility for what we were wanting to use for our invites, and I think they turned out great (for a DIY).  2 Invites could be made from 1 sheet of paper. I printed the actual invite on Vellum paper, and then put it over the card stock.  Here's what you need:  FREE Template 1 pack of 100 sheet Card Stock Paper-I got mine from Michaels because it was shimmery but not too blingy 1 pack of white vellum paper (I got mine at Staples) Ribbon in color of your choice Hole Puncher Scissors Half

Winter is Coming..so is a Wedding!

Burrrr! Today is a balmy 40 degrees outside-and I'm definitely not ready for it despite my scarf-wearing, boot shopping fashion choices since September, hoping to "force" Fall to actually happening, but now that it's here: go away! Or at least just get a liiiitle bit warmer, so I can still have fun in my dozens of scarves and boots, but not freeze my ass off. Ka-peesh? My parents like to kindly remind me of what's to come in December, since we are going to the Army-Navy football game in Baltimore. Last year in Philly was just awful (and by awful I mean freezing, rainy, icy, cold, hungry, wet, sweaty, repeat) but a blasty blast being in a new city and living through new memories being made.  Any hoo-Even though I'm not snuggled up at home on this festive Veteran's Day (thank you to everyone who has served!), warm in my bed, I still wanted to touch on some wedding related topics: vendors. This could also be fun to read AFTER the wedding in April, to loo
