Kiefer is 7!

My little baby puppy, deemed me "girl with the dog" 7 years ago at the same apartment complex that I would meet my husband at, is all growed up. 7 long yet incredibly short years old! He was just a wee little thing, my pride and joy, and originally not mine. My roommate at the time made the decision to bring him home (he was born in Oklahoma!) and after some inappropriate doggy handler behavior, I announced him mine, paid for his vet bills, and took him home to my parents house. Where he's never left, and now that their house is empty, has made himself quit comfortable sharing my parents bed at night.   //October when we first got him!// //Being goofy//baby snuggles// For anyone that knows me or has met me, they know that I talk about my dog a lot. Or I post a lot of pictures of him. Sorry not sorry. He's my Kiefy Baby. //Hey Mom!//little babyyyy// Kiefer loves tennis balls and licking the back of your legs as he walks by. He is scare...

Long Live Alien!

In true grown up fashion, Robert and I purchased our first car together! Which meant that I had to trade in my car that I've had for almost 10 years, stemming all the way from Junior year of High School to now. Happy "4 year anniversary of graduating college" to me? And I have to tell you, as weird as I am (so shouldn't be all surprised), it was a LOT sadder than I thought, seeing my Alien stripped of all of my knick knacks, CDs, paperwork, and sentimental valuables collected in there over the past 10 years and just like that-gone!  So, so long Alien! This post is for you. I'll miss you and your awesome gas mileage. And how your speakers buzzed just right when I played Flo Rida music. Or the countless number of memories I'v had since Christmas 2005.  I'll never forget the time that.... -I first got you! Merry Christmas to me.  (Pictures of me opening the keys, Christmas Eve 2005)  -How on the first day of school the a couple we...

Feelin' hot hot hot!

Whew. It sure has been a hot one. It's also been a quick minute since this has been updated. Whoops. #sorrynotsorry. The days have been long and the weeks short, and holy moly we are already almost to August. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but there are so many fun things to look forward to this fall! I really can't wait to bust out my boots again (and to not worry about whether or not my legs have been shaved ;)), football season, fair season, birthdays, holidays. It's my favorite time!  I'm tying to soak up the last of this 100-degree weather, but it's not easy. It's physically draining just walking to and from the car. I ended up having a 100-degree fever last night, complete with chills and achy-ness just out of the blue. I feel somewhat fine today, but that was so random and with the heat, almost unbearable. I didn't feel like doing anything, and this heat just isn't what I thought it would be. And I used to play soccer game...

Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Well. I did it. Took the plunge. Jumped off the band wagon. And I feel....about 8-9 inches lighter!  And the not so pretty before photo (just looked at all that fried straw!):  #shorthairdontcare

Happy Birthday, America!

Yayy for Birthdays! Especially the ones that determined oh so long ago how our country came to be to this day. It's easy to forget the real meaning behind the Holiday, but I am forever grateful that I am fortunate enough to have lived in a such a place where spending time out at the lake with my friends and family, drinking and eating all sorts of yummies, and enjoying the simple things in life has been made possible.  So! Lake! Sunshine! Family! Friends! It was a glorious (and short) 3 day weekend, but it was a blasty blast (not just from the fireworks though). My sister and her boyfriend got to come out and spend the weekend with us, and joining not long after was Robert's sis and HER boyfriend, AND my parents. Full house, and couldn't have asked for anything better! The food was yummy (I may or may not have eaten dessert all day long since I made it on Friday morning), the drinks were drunk, and good times were made.  Hope...

Austin Adventures

Happy July!  Wait July? Seriously!!? How can we be half way through our year already? Times be flying ayyeeee.  This past weekend was quiteeee the adventure I'll say. Complete with a long car ride to and from (thanks to you, traffic!), a rainy zip lining attempt, an amazing steak dinner, a grand ol time in downtown Austin with friends, and epic FaceTime chat with the groom to be, and a mountain of breakfast brunch food that I'm still thinking of.  Can't wait for round 2 in August! I was most excited for our hiking adventure and zip line tour that we had set up, and in true Texas fashion when we showed up it was hot, sunny, and a good day to get your sweat on:  And not 30 minutes into the first lil bunny beginner slope was a downpour of rain and a cancellation due to lightening. Which then meant a soaking wet hike back to camp, then another soaking wet boat ride back across the little cove on Lake Travis, and a sopping wet van ride back to home base. W...
